OAKLAND, CA - Home to Bay Area's Hottest "New" Venues
Living in Oakland, CA, I'm always on the hunt for new spaces. While the residential real estate market has been booming for a few years, the event industry has been slow to catch up. We kept finding our local Oakland clients heading to SF or Napa for their events, because Oakland had very little to offer...until recently. New places are opening, old places have made incredible updates during the pandemic, and the city is more determined than ever to bring business back to Oakland.
We have been fortunate enough to tour some of these incredible settings and are sharing them below.
Bridge Yard: growing up in the bay area, I've driven past this warehouse countless times. Even as a kid, I daydreamed of one day having an event there...and today that dream is a reality. The Bridge Yard warehouse has gone through major renovations and the light-filled space is perfect for larger events. It also has an outdoor space, a parking lot, and views of Treasure Island - all things hard to come by in the area. A trifecta maybe?

The Moxy: Oakland has been in desperate need of a contemporary hotel property, and The Moxy appeared at the perfect time. As all properties under this brand, the spaces are fun, encourage socializing, and great for room blocks. It's location makes it the spot to stay - its terrace is right on Telegraph, perfect to people watch on First Fridays or enjoy a drink before walking over to The Fox theater for a show.

California Ballroom: This is a true hidden Oakland gem. Located in the center of it, this space has all the charm - original architectural details, an updated bar, renovated restrooms, and a handful of smaller private spaces in addition to the 600 capacity main room. It has Fox Theater vibes and the stage makes this space the perfect spot for one epic dance party.

Bloc15: When we heard the same group that manages Terra Gallery in SF was opening a space in Oakland, we knew we were in for a treat. This open space with all the latest amenities requires just your imagination and a guest list. Inventory list includes room dividers, lounge furniture, tables, barstools, bars, lighting, an in-house sound system, a projector, and a full kitchen. You have the flexibility to bring in your own vendor team, so customizing your event is easy.

Over the next few months, additional spaces are set to open and we can't wait to share them with you all (don't forget to check out our IG stories for the latest!). We're so excited to see this vibrant city grow and flourish, welcoming private and large tech events with open arms. If you're looking to host an Oakland-based event, we're your team! We've got a long list of hidden gems and local businesses, from catering to photography, so reach out for your upcoming event - we'd love to help.
