This past September, we had the pleasure of planning an unforgettable celebration at a private estate in California’s renowned wine country. We worked with the couple for a year to bring the vision to life, blending timeless elegance with the natural beauty of this gorgeous destination. With an intimate guest list of 90 close friends and family, this private estate wedding embodied the perfect balance of cool and intimacy.
The day began with a stunning outdoor ceremony framed by an oak tree. The couple exchanged vows enveloped by a ground floral arch, perfectly positioned to highlight the breathtaking views that make wine country weddings so iconic. As a wedding planner, we understand the importance of creating moments that seamlessly blend with the stunning natural landscape, and this ceremony did just that.
After the ceremony, guests were invited to a relaxed cocktail hour, exploring the grounds and the various vignettes we installed. From cafe tables overlooking the vineyards, to the photo cart, guests could pick how they wanted to spend the hour in between ceremony and dinner. The extra large bar (12’!) was strategically placed in the middle of all the activities, making it convenient no matter what area of cocktail hour you’re enjoying. A great selection of local wines (a hallmark of any wine country wedding!), 2 signature cocktails, and passed hor d’oeuvres made their way to the guests, ensuring everyone mingled while soaking in the warm California sunset.
The dinner space embodied whimsy, taking place along the estate’s sparkling pool and under a canopy of twinkling lights. The outdoor wedding reception featured a family style dinner that celebrated the flavors of the area, with catering priding themselves on sourcing ingredients locally. We worked with the stationery designer to create a tri-fold menu and place card combination, creating a fun “unveiling” moment for each guest as they took a seat.
As a destination wedding planner, my goal is always to create experiences that feel both luxurious and deeply personal, and this wedding was no exception. From the intimate dinner by the pool to the magical first dance under the stars, every moment felt like a celebration.. With one of our favorite DJs providing the soundtrack to the evening, guests danced and partied well into the night. This destination wedding in wine country felt like a perfect reflection of what makes this region such a sought-after location for couples from all over the world.
